Great Lakes Naval Base (Recruit Training Center in Illinois) 4/3/09

John's commanders while he was in bootcamp @ Great Lakes.


John carried the state of Alabama flag for the graduation ceremony.

We all were so proud of John. He looked great and was advanced during bootcamp. He received three stripes on his sleeve for a job well done.

We all had fun shopping at the Gurnee Mall , eating at Gordarno's pizza shop (great chicago-style pizza) and at the RainForrest Cafe the food and scenery was grand. Taylor liked all the aquariums filled with tropical fish and lights plus sound effects of a tropical rainforrest storm every ten minutes while we were eating our meal at the cafe. The Navy Pier and Six Flags will be loads of fun for John to sightsee while he is attending school near Chicago. Maybe we'll go with him sometime too.
